 Big data is essential to crime prevention, from the rate of crime and even analysing the people to most likely to commit a crime in an area. Targeted crime is also an aspect, who is most likely to be victimised. To keep people safe, patrolling hot spots of crime is essential especially late-night weekends which is known due to the data gathered at those times. Even tracking those with previously known convictions and even places with high drug and alcohol use. Even analysing where people could acquire drugs through deals.
